GEOLOGY FIELD COURSE IN BIGAR - CARAS-SEVERIN COUNTY (SOUTH CARPATHIANS) - 2013
In 2013, the Bigar traditional field course in Geology took place between 3-10 July, and it was attended by 16 freshmen in Geology. The students benefited of excellent weather, great food at Mleziva Pension, and, first of all, exquisite Geology along the Sirinia, Sirinca, Dragoselca, Zamonita, Dragosela, and Tulinibreg Valleys around Bigar, where all sorts of rocks, fossils and ages were encountered. Mapping was successful, and the field course was successful. A written log by Andreea Sima was kept, as a sensible recording of these events. As usual, the Dilcher-Popa field laboratory was the host for various studies, as the students used the microscopes and other types of gear for their individual projects.
